Ram Raksha... It's a most favorite "Raksha" stotra in India. The name itself suggests a "Protection given by Lord Ram" to the individual along with his family. This is one of beautifully drafted stotra by Saint "Budha-Kaushik".
Saint Budha-Kaushik was the follower of Lord Shiva. He was having his own Aashram where he used to do his "Jap" and pray to Lord Shiva. One fine day when Budha-Kaushik was sleeping, Lord Shiva came in his dreams. In dreams Budha-Kaushik asked him, what is the best way for an ordinary man to follow so that he can protect himself and his beloved ones from all evil things?
That time Lord Shiva thought him "Ram Raksha Stotram". And Saint Budha-Kaushik wrote it in the morning.
The Stotra starts with praise to Lord Rama then follows with the actual Raksha part. The Raksha is followed by "Phal-Shruti". Usually all stotra ends with Phal-Shruti. But this stotra has Ram-Stuti in addition, where Budh-Kaushika has praised Lord Ram for his eternal glory.
This stotra is recited by many Indians on daily basis, which gives them a peace of mind from there daily hectic routine.
Thank you for this wonderful post. May Ram bless you.
